Are you looking for unique ideas for an engagement shoot that showcases your personalities and love story? Look no further than Hannah and Melissa’s in-home engagement shoot!
As a New England photographer specializing in shooting couples and elopements, I had the pleasure of capturing this cozy and intimate shoot in their home. Here are some tips and tricks to make your own in-home engagement shoot just as special.
First, choose a location in your home that holds meaning to you as a couple. For Hannah and Melissa, that meant starting in their living room, where they spend most of their time together and where Melissa popped the question on an intimate snowy morning in New Hampshire. We incorporated personal touches like their three dogs, the letter she used to propose, and even some champagne, to make the shoot feel uniquely theirs.
Next, consider the lighting in your chosen location. Natural light is always ideal, so try to schedule your shoot during a time of day when the sun is shining in through the windows. We took advantage of the mid-morning glow shining through their windows, which provided a warm and romantic atmosphere.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with different poses and angles to capture your love story. We took some traditional shots of Hannah and Melissa snuggled up on the couch, but also played around with more playful poses like twirling and at moments it felt as if I wasn’t even there.
Finally, have fun with it! Hannah and Melissa’s shoot was filled with laughter, cuddles, and genuine moments of connection. This is your chance to celebrate your love and create memories that will last a lifetime.
As a New England photographer shooting couples and elopements, I know how important it is to capture the unique essence of each couple’s love story.
